I will be using The Sex-Role Perspective to examine what it means to be a woman according to women in a male-dominated genre. To best explore the Sex-Role Perspective, my analysis will consist of highlighting emotions that fall under stereotypically female and counter-stereotypical emotions pulled from Hyde (1995, p. 134).<\/p>\n<p><strong>Stereotypical emotions conveyed:<\/strong><br \/>\n\u201cI can\u2019t explain all of this at once\u201d<br \/>\nIndecisive<br \/>\n\u201cI hope to god and pray that they\u2019ll never leave\u201d<br \/>\nLoyal<\/p>\n<p><strong>Contersterotypical emotions conveyed:<\/strong><br \/>\n\u201cI hoped and loathed I could make it this far\u201d<br \/>\nAggressive<br \/>\n\u201cAll ya gotta know buddy is it was at first my plan to leave\u201d<br \/>\n\u201cLeave me alone and leave me to die\u201d<br \/>\nForceful<\/p>\n<p><strong>Conclusion:<\/strong><br \/>\nThis song highlights a heavy beat and even heavier lyrics. Ayala expresses her hurt and feeling of betrayal from multiple bad relationships and the fear and trauma that it brought out. The major shift is when her vocals go from melodious to screaming to be heard.
