The theory I will be using for my analysis is the sex-role perspective which is defined as the role of females in a males perspective.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The first example of sex roles within the lyrics of &#8220;Intentions&#8221; is the line &#8220;Stay in\u2005the kitchen cookin&#8217; up, got your own bread&#8221; Justin Bieber is implying that women should be in the kitchen cooking. Bieber is stating the stereotype of &#8220;women belong in the kitchen&#8221; while the man is off making the money for the family.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The second example of sex roles is &#8220;You got a mean touch, I can&#8217;t refuse (No, I can&#8217;t refuse it)&#8221; Bieber is sexualizing his wife&#8217;s body, implying she has a body he cannot live without. &#8220;You got a mean touch&#8221; could be implied as the woman having the feminine touch that men are supposed to see and the touch they deserve to have.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The third example of sex roles is &#8220;Already passed, you don&#8217;t need no approval&#8221; where Bieber is implying that a woman should ask for approval to possibly leave the house or if the clothes the woman may be wearing are good enough to be worn out in public.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The fourth and final example of sex roles is in relation to the looks of females. Females are supposed to be picture perfect from the male&#8217;s perspective.
