While your Welcome page is written for both specialist and non-specialist audiences, the Introduction is designed for specialist audiences.\u00a0 Be guided by the following directions for your Introduction.<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 12.0pt;\">Any good book will have some kind of preface or introduction by the author.<span style=\"mso-spacerun: yes;\">\u00a0 <\/span>In such introductions, the author is able to personalize the book, while providing an overview of the book&#8217;s contents.<span style=\"mso-spacerun: yes;\">\u00a0 <\/span>Since all of you will be writing wonderful books (your portfolios), you will want to create a rousing introduction.<span style=\"mso-spacerun: yes;\">\u00a0 <\/span>Thus you will want to pay particular attention to the following information on the Introduction parameters.<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 12.0pt;\">\u00a0<\/span><br \/>\n<b><span style=\"font-size: 12.0pt;\">Introduction Description<\/span><\/b><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 12.0pt;\">The Introduction should be around 3-4 (or more) typed pages. <span style=\"mso-spacerun: yes;\">\u00a0<\/span>In this essay, you should do the following:<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 12.0pt;\">\u00a0<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 12.0pt;\">\u2022Discuss the value of studying English literature<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 12.0pt;\">\u2022Describe your writing process (readers should be able to &#8220;see&#8221; how you create a document, how you compose, etc.)<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 12.0pt;\">\u2022Discuss your writing strengths and areas you concentrated on for improvement<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 12.0pt;\">\u2022Present other information that you feel adds to the reflective word<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 12.0pt;\">\u00a0\u2022Write Introduction in a lively, vivid, concrete, and personable style<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 12.0pt;\">\u00a0<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 12.0pt;\">\u00a0<\/span><br \/>\n<!--[if gte mso 9]><xml>\n<o:OfficeDocumentSettings>\n<o:TargetScreenSize>800x600<\/o:TargetScreenSize>\n<\/o:OfficeDocumentSettings>\n<\/xml><![endif]--><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Introduction, as the name implies, is the keynote for your portfolio.
